Osimhen Scores as Galatasaray Wins Turkish League, Secures Second Trophy in Five Days

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen played a crucial role in Galatasaray’s triumph as they secured the Turkish Super Lig title with a commanding 3-0 victory over Kayserispor. This win marks Galatasaray’s second trophy in just five days, following their Turkish Cup victory earlier in the week.

Osimhen, currently on loan from Napoli, opened the scoring in the 26th minute, rising high to meet a cross from Gabriel Sara. His goal was uniquely celebrated as his daughter, Hailey, announced his name in the stadium. Just three minutes later, Baris Alper Yilmaz doubled the lead, while veteran goalkeeper Fernando Muslera sealed the win with a late penalty.

With this victory, Galatasaray extended their lead at the top of the table to 89 points, making it mathematically impossible for second-placed Fenerbahce to catch up. The club has now won its 25th Super Lig title, further cementing its dominance in Turkish football.

Osimhen’s stellar performance has been a highlight of the season, with the striker scoring 25 league goals and breaking a 24-year-old record for the most goals by a foreign player in Turkish football. His contributions have sparked speculation about his future, with reports linking him to a move to the English Premier League.
